"Considering the quality of his academic work, what I still find most impressive is how Jacky is able to empower others through leadership and education while embodying responsible and respectful travel. These qualities often take years to develop, to see these qualities in such a young and dedicated person, is nothing short of remarkable...I am proud to have learned from, nurtured and supported such a passionate proponent of social justice and leadership."
- Dr. Harvey Lemelin - School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism - Lakehead University
Jacky is an avid traveller and has explored many regions of the world in pursuit of adventure, knowledge, and cultural understanding. In 2014/15 Jackie cruised down the Amazon River in a cargo boat, trained in Chinese kickboxing in China, and motorcycled across Nepal and Northern India.
Jacky graduated from Humber College with a diploma in film and television production. He completed a degree in education and a degree in outdoor recreation, with a specialty in leadership, at Lakehead University. He is employed at Camp Arowhon, in Algonquin Provincial Park, as a canoe tripper and wellness instructor during the summer months. Jacky is currently pursuing his Master's in education with a focus on social justice.
